Introduction of the periodical office

          The journal section of Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, affiliated directly to the university, is one of its functional departments, taking charge of the management, edit and publication of the university periodicals. It has a staff of 11 people, including: 3 with high professional title, 3 with Dr Degree, 8 with master degree, having basically formed a highly-titled, highly-educated, active and energetic young editor team.
　　The section consists of three editorial offices with 3 branches periodicals: Journal of Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications (Natural Science), Journal of Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications (Social Science), and Population and Society, whose publications cover the disciplines of natural science, humanities and social science.
　　The edition Natural Science, a professional journal founded in 1960, is featured by the disciplines of communications, electronics and information sciences, one of the earliest periodicals of the field in our country.
　　The edition Social Science, founded in 1999, aims to keep a foothold on the characteristics of the university’s information sciences, and is devoted to the expansion of multi-disciplinary cross researches. The featured columns include "socialism with Chinese characteristics", "information economics and management", "network media progress", " development research of Yangtze river delta " and other topics.
　　"Population and Society" , founded in 1985, and  formerly known as "journal of Nanjing College of Population Programme Management, has a distinct characteristic of demographic and sociological study, with the academic orientation of making itself a specialized and branded periodical in the field of population and social research.
　　In the past years, with the concern and support of the leaders of and departments at all levels, the journal section has earnestly carried out the policies of our party and state, strictly obeys the national laws and regulations on journal publications, takes the initiative to be adapted to the requirements for the field brought up by the globalization-and-information-based society, constantly implements reform and innovation, and strives to build high-quality periodical in the fields. We have been doing our best to make each of the 3 periodicals an important window to show the results of academic research in China, an exchange platform in the university for interdisciplinary academic communication, and a cradle of training young and middle-aged academic talents. In short, we have been devoting due contributions in making NUPT a first-class research university.
